After Your Surgery

Once we are certain that you are alert and that your condition has stabilized, we will discharge you from Texas Orthopedics Surgery Center. Our healthcare team will give you written instructions regarding your diet, rest, exercise regimen, and what medications to take. We will also discuss these instructions with your family/caregiver who has accompanied you to the center.

Here are other things to keep in mind after your surgery:

  • For your safety an adult must drive you home and care for you for 24 hours after surgery.
  • Contact your physician at 512-439-1000 if you have any issues or questions after you arrive home. Also refrain from taking any medication that was not prescribed by your surgeon or referring physician.
  • A nurse will call you at home 24-48 hours after your procedure to see how you are feeling and answer any remaining questions.
  • Your feedback is important to us. We continuously learn from our experience and we benchmark those experiences with other surgery centers, so as an organization we can continue to give excellent care to all of our patients. This surgery will be given to you by our survey partner, Press Ganey.
